A day of firsts.
We had an eventful, uneventful Friday. After an early morning wake up call for a third trimester ultrasound (thank you hubby for 7:15 appointment) - BAM – two firsts. First time this darn kid was classified as anything but “normal” and first time I’ve been admitted to a hospital. Joy.
Poor little kid; she’s developing ‘structurally’ just fine – bones are the right size, skull and internal organs are all gleefully buzzing away. Only hiccup, she’s in the 2nd percentile for weight which lands mommy in the hospital.
It all seemed a little surreal. This is the kid who proved ‘normal’ at virtually every other test along the way. There was that one issue with the blood work associated with the nuchal translucency screen, but that was proven misleading by the amnio. Other than that, normal, normal, normal. 2nd percentile? Huh?
So Baby Momma is now enjoying a lovely ‘spa’ experience at Swedish hospital. I have to say the view of Elliot Bay and Smith Tower is pretty darn enjoyable.
How long am I ‘in’? 3 days? 2 weeks? I’m sure there’s a betting pool out there somewhere that’ building up subscribers. I’m just hoping I’ll be sprung before the little pip arrives. 10 weeks to full term and this Momma is far from ready!
