First Thursdays

I married into an interesting tradition. My husband has hosts a large dinner party (we're talkin' 12 - 30 people) on the First Thursday of each month. It had been going on for twenty years before I showed up on the scene. Basically, we make a big pot of something yummy to eat, set out plates and wine glasses and wait for folks to show up. It's always a slightly different crowd. The 'regulars' bring along side dishes, beverages, intersting converstaions. The 'newbies' sit in wide-eyed awe as the inevitably late evening unfolds.
